The Didactic Game It
is a participatory technique of teaching and the game is a naturally happy
activity the fully develops the personality. It is a pedagogical activity and
it meets the intellectual, practical, communicative and value elements in a
playful way.
Use games in the
classroom are so important in building a relationship not just between you and
your student, but between the students themselves. Nothing makes for a better
classroom environment than everyone liking each other. And it is easy to like
someone you are playing with. You want them to trust you to respond to their
needs, you want them to get along with each other, and just as importantly, you
want to have fun in class! These are hours of your life too, so you might as
well have fun while doing it.
Games can be used to
warm up the class before your lesson begins, during the lesson to give students
a break when you’re tackling a tough subject, or at the end of class when you
have a few minutes left to kill. There are literally hundreds, probably
thousands, of games that you can play with your students.
